EMCEE: Stephanie Peña
Catholic Charities is excited to announce our special emcee for Green Tie Gala will be Stephanie Peña! Stephanie has served as Voice Announcer and National Anthem Vocalist for Unidos US for 20 years. Amongst her highest honors, this Kennedy Center Alumni has performed for multiple U.S. Presidents and recently sang behind Demi Lovato for the 2021 Presidential Inauguration.
Peña is also a Member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and the Screen Actors Guild. Stephanie’s vocal and on-camera talents have served such Champions as the United Nations, the Ad Council, the Small Business Association and many more! Peña is committed to empowering & elevating marginalized voices as well as ensuring meaningful messages resonate through storytelling, starting by disrupting the existing narrative. We can’t wait to have her take the stage on Saturday, February 4th, 2023!
ENTERTAINMENT: Garrett “Big G” Jacobson
As a dynamic blues and jazz performer, Garrett Jacobson has been captivating audiences for twenty-five years. Garrett formed his own band in 1998, recorded his first album and began performing at clubs and blues festivals throughout Oklahoma and the surrounding region. He has released six albums and his recordings have received critical praise in national and regional publications such as Living Blues, Blues Revue, Blues Blast, and Southwest Blues.
The Garrett “Big G” Jacobson Band has performed at notable venues across the country such as Buddy Guy’s Legends, The Chicago Blues Festival, The Grand Emporium, and B.B. King’s Blues Club. Garrett has also performed with blues greats Jimmy Johnson, Carl Weathersby, and Smokey Wilson. With his distinct guitar style and impactful vocal delivery, Garrett Jacobson delivers a soul-satisfying performance not to be forgotten.
ABOUT SANCTUARY
Green Tie Gala directly benefits the Sanctuary Women’s Development Centers in Oklahoma City and in Norman. Sanctuary serves homeless and at-risk women and children in the metro area. The growing number of women and children experiencing homeless in our city continues to rise.
Proceeds from Green Tie Gala help transform and empower this marginalized population to help them find sustainability. Direct donations to this program of Catholic Charities are always accepted and appreciated directly.
